How It (Digia) Works

How it Works.png
  • What is Digia?
Digia is a frontend orchestration platform for mobile apps. It enables teams to create, manage, and release UI and logic from a centralized dashboard—without needing to rebuild or redeploy the app through app stores.
  • How is Digia different from React Native or Flutter?
Digia is not a UI framework like React Native or Flutter. It sits on top of native or cross-platform apps like flutter and powers them via Server Driven UI (SDUI). With Digia, teams define screens, flows, and logic on a backend dashboard, which gets rendered instantly on the app.
  • 3. Can Digia work with our existing React Native or Native app or Flutter App ?
Yes. Digia supports brownfield integration—you can embed Digia-powered flows alongside existing native or Flutter screens. Though digia currently doest supports React Native, but its in the roadmap.
  • How does Digia impact performance?
Digia is designed for high-performance apps. It uses lazy loading, optimized rendering engines, and micro-optimizations to ensure 60FPS experiences even on low-end devices.
  • Does Digia support offline use cases?
Digia is designed primarily for internet-driven applications, where screens and data are fetched dynamically from the server. While it does not natively support full offline app experiences, Digia does allow for input-based screens to function offline—provided the data sources are managed locally and passed in as inputs. That said, we do not recommend building completely offline-first applications with Digia at this time, as the platform is optimized for real-time server communication. Yes. Digia supports offline-first screen caching, allowing users to interact with previously loaded screens even when offline. You can also choose which flows to cache proactively.
  • How do I create and update screens using Digia?
Digia provides a visual builder where designers or developers can compose UI using components, configure business logic, set API integrations, and preview in real-time. Screens can be versioned and released instantly.
  • What happens if Digia’s backend goes down?
Digia maintains a local cache along with default configurations of screens directly on the UI SDK. If the backend is temporarily unavailable, the app continues functioning using this local data, ensuring that users experience no visible disruption. While new versions or updates won't be shipped during backend downtime, the current app experience remains fully functional.
  • How does Digia handle analytics and events?
Digia offers native integrations with tools like Mixpanel, Clevertap, Firebase, LaunchDarkly, and supports custom event tagging and funnel tracking out of the box. Additionally, the Digia SDK provides clickstream callbacks, which can be used to send events to any analytics or logging system a company is already using—offering full flexibility in data tracking and telemetry. UI events can also be configured and managed directly from the Digia dashboard, making them server-driven and version-controlled, just like the rest of the app experience.Digia offers native integrations with tools like Mixpanel, Clevertap, Firebase, LaunchDarkly, and supports custom event tagging and funnel tracking out of the box. • What’s the developer experience like?
Developers can preview and test flows in a sandbox environment, use version-controlled screen definitions, and test on real devices using our companion app or SDK. In addition, Digia offers robust debugging and analytics support. We've invested heavily in our expression engine, error state detection, and runtime safeguards. Features like autocomplete and two-way data mapping ensure that compile-time issues are eliminated and most runtime errors are caught immediately—helping teams ship with higher confidence and fewer bugs.Developers can preview and test flows in a sandbox environment, use version-controlled screen definitions, and test on real devices using our companion app or SDK.
  • Can Digia support high-concurrency events like IPL or flash sales?
Yes. Digia is built for scale. We’ve successfully supported flows with 10M+ concurrent users, with optimizations for time-critical and event-heavy workloads.
  • How do releases work in Digia?
You can release screens, components, logic, and even analytics configurations with a single click, instantly updating the experience for all or targeted users. Everything is delivered through Server Driven UI, which allows dynamic changes without app store approvals. The typical Digia flow is as follows: a developer or designer creates a version, which is then promoted to a staging environment for internal testing. Once verified, it can be released to production through a staggered rollout, allowing for safe and controlled deployment.
  • Can we customize Digia’s component library?
Absolutely. Digia supports custom components, reusable blocks, design tokens, and theming, making it easy to align with your brand and product guidelines. Developers can use Digia’s atomic components to compose more complex components and build scalable design systems. Developers can also inject native components into the app experience by adding them to the component registry in Digia—enabling full extensibility for platform-specific needs.Absolutely.
  • What platforms does Digia support?
Digia currently supports Flutter, native Android, and iOS. Support for React Native is planned in 2025.
  • What is the pricing model?
Digia offers a flexible pricing model based on monthly active users, number of flows, and enterprise requirements. Contact us for a tailored quote.
  • Is Digia open source?
Parts of the SDK and component library are open source. The orchestration engine and studio dashboard are proprietary.
  • How secure is Digia?
Digia follows best practices in encryption, authentication, and secure deployment. We support SSO, audit logs, RBAC, and are compliant with major security standards.
  • Can product managers use Digia without writing code?
Currently, Digia is a low-code platform optimized for mobile app developers. While it isn't fully no-code, we do provide comprehensive resources and training materials to help product managers and designers get started and collaborate effectively within Digia. With some onboarding, non-developers can begin contributing to flow design and logic configuration.
  • What’s the typical time to go live with Digia?
Teams can go live with a Digia-powered flow in under a week by following SDK integration steps and making a release on the App Store and Play Store. If a complete migration is needed, teams can usually finish within 6–12 weeks, once trained—depending on the number and complexity of the screens involved.
  • What support does Digia provide?
We offer onboarding, dedicated Slack support, weekly office hours, priority SLAs, and implementation consulting for large teams. Our support model is designed to help you get productive quickly, resolve issues fast, and adopt best practices across teams. We also provide access to training materials, FAQs, and direct collaboration with our product and engineering team for strategic clients.
