The Challenge
Omli's content team had a pipeline problem. New learning modules (seasonal themes, age-specific activities, festival content) were designed faster than engineering could ship them.
- Every new conversation flow, onboarding tweak, or "welcome back" prompt required a native code change and app store release
- The content team finalised a Diwali-themed speaking activity a week before the festival, but by the time it cleared QA and review, the festival had passed
- Parent engagement was a gap. Parents downloaded the app, set up a profile, and rarely came back to check progress. No way to surface milestone nudges without engineering help.
The Solution
- Parent milestone nudge: after a child completed a set number of conversations, the parent's home screen showed an inline card celebrating the milestone with a prompt to explore the next activity theme. Trigger thresholds and copy configured in the dashboard.
- Seasonal content widgets that surface festival-themed and topical activities directly on the home screen. Content goes live the moment it is ready.
- Onboarding nudges walking first-time users through profile setup and feature discovery ("Did you know Doro can tell stories in Hindi?"). Three different sequences tested in a single week.
- Re-engagement bottom sheet: if a child has not had a conversation in three days, the next time the parent opens the app, a gentle nudge suggests a new topic based on previous interests
