Probo ran in-app gamification and contextual nudges daily, without touching the trading codebase
Digia Engage powered contextual bottom sheets on trading markets, scratch card rewards, daily streaks, and spin-the-wheel mechanics, all shipped from the growth team's dashboard.

About Probo
Probo was India's leading opinion trading platform, where users traded on real world event outcomes: elections, cricket matches, economic indicators. At its peak, the app processed millions of trades daily with a user base that skewed young, mobile-first, and highly engaged.
- Millions of trades processed daily at peak
- Real world event-based markets: elections, cricket, economy
- Young, mobile-first user base with high engagement
The Challenge
Opinion trading is time-sensitive by nature. Markets open and close around real world events. Probo's growth team needed to react in hours, not sprint cycles.
- Push notifications reached users outside the app. By the time someone tapped through, the trading window had often narrowed. The team needed contextual nudges while users were already active.
- Gamification ideas (spin-the-wheel, streak rewards, referral challenges) were high on the roadmap but could not get engineering bandwidth
- No way to A/B test in-app creative. Running two versions of a banner meant a full native build. Most experiments never got off the ground.
The Solution
- Contextual bottom sheet: when a user viewed a market but did not place a trade within 60 seconds, a nudge showed simplified odds and a one-tap "Place trade" button. Shipped from the dashboard.
- Scratch card rewards after a user's first trade of the day, encouraging repeat activity
- Daily streak counters on the home screen with escalating rewards for consecutive active days
- Spin-the-wheel mechanics tied to referral milestones, where both referrer and new user got trading credits
- Contextual inline banners on high-volume markets (IPL matches, election nights) with copy that updated in real time as odds shifted
Impact & Results
- Gamification drove repeat engagement — streaks, scratch cards, and spin-the-wheel outperformed outbound notifications
- Daily in-app campaigns shipped without engineering tickets — a banner that underperformed in the morning got replaced by afternoon
- Contextual nudges caught users at highest intent — already browsing and one tap away from a trade
- A/B testing feedback loop reduced from weeks to hours — growth team ran and reverted experiments the same day
